Puppet Smart Class Parameters

The Puppet smart class parameters page can be accessed via the configure menu:

Configure > Smart Class Parameters

The Puppet smart class parameters page forms a part of orcharhino’s Puppet support. It is the default option for configuration management within orcharhino.

Puppet smart class parameters are read into orcharhino directly from Puppet classes that declare them and are evaluated at runtime. This represents the preferred way for orcharhino to interact with Puppet and allows you to make use of Puppet for configuration management. Once imported, the default values associated with these parameters can be overridden from within orcharhino.

List of Puppet smart class parameters
  • Clicking on a parameter in the left column allows you to edit a Puppet smart class parameter and therefore change the default behaviour of the imported Puppet module.

  • Clicking on a Puppet class in the center column allows you to configure a Puppet class.

The only alternative is to use Puppet smart variables.

Refer to the Puppet guide for more information on how to use Puppet for configuration management with orcharhino.
