Adding orcharhino Clients
The following steps guide you through adding orcharhino clients manually. orcharhino clients are required to attach hosts to orcharhino.
-
Create a new product
Creating a product requires only a name, as a product is a collection of repositories. Adding a GPG public key and sync plan is recommended but optional.
The product will typically house all orcharhino clients for a single operating system, e.g.
Debian
orSLES
. -
Create new repositories
Creating a repository requires several fields besides the
upstream URL
, such as an arbitrary name and a type. You can find the necessary upstream URLs for all orcharhino clients in the ATIX Service Portal. -
Sync newly created product
Syncing a product fetches the orcharhino client from the upstream URL to your orcharhino instance.
-
Create new content view
Creating a new content view is required to make the
.rpm
and.deb
packages consumable by content hosts. -
Create activation key
Creating a new activation key is required in order to attach content hosts to orcharhino.
-
(Optional) Create new host group
Creating a new host group simplifies the process of creating hosts.
This allows you to attach and deploy hosts running specific operating systems to/from orcharhino.
Upgrading orcharhino Clients
Refer to the ATIX Service Portal for instructions on how to upgrade SLES clients to SLES clients v2. |
Every orcharhino release also contains newly built orcharhino clients. There are two steps required to make use of these:
-
Sync product
-
Publish content view
Publish a new version of the content view containing the orcharhino client repositories.
Now, hosts subscribed to an activation key containing the client repositories or corresponding content views will automatically be able to receive the newly synchronized orcharhino clients. Refer to activation keys and content hosts for more information.
